Not so far this time

Me and Sarah are no strangers to moving house. Sarah lived in several different countries when she was younger due to her Dad’s job and she eventually came over to live in England when she was a teenager. I’ve moved several times too..... from Port Sunlight (where I was born) down to Middlesex and ever since then I’ve slowly worked my way back up North. I like the North, we both do.

Sarah and I met each other in West Yorkshire and lived there for ten years. We then moved to Scotland for a year and then back down to the North of England; Cumbria, where we also got married in 2000.

Having rented here now for four years, and loving the area of South Lakes, we have decided to settle down. We are moving just two miles away to Allithwaite. It’s a new experience for us both and one we like very much.... moving house but not so far away.... so you can still drop in on your old neighbours on your way home from work, particularly the neighbours that knock on your back door with freshly baked flapjack! Staying in the same area means you get to go to the same shops, the same pubs, don’t need to find a new dentist and you can keep in touch with the same friends. Best of all you can still do your favourite local walks!

Our new home has needed a bit of work doing before we could move in and thankfully it is all finished except for a bit of electrical work, so now we can get on with the decorating once we move in. We decided to invest in two log stoves and will be getting a visit from a friend of ours next week... a local tree surgeon... with a large bag of logs....

One L or two?
Two Ls or one?

The Garden Room.
Lovely old copper and fireplace, but they had to make way for a more efficient log stove !
Garden room work in progress......!
